When you come in for a routine dental cleaning and exam, you will be receive a series of tests to determine the state of your oral health. These tests are thorough but non-invasive and can be used to detect both minor and major dental health concerns. We usually take digital X-rays and intraoral images. We will also perform a cancer screening, TMJ evaluation, and complete visual exam. These exams are routine and can help us catch small problems before they become larger ones.

Dry mouth can be a sign of oral cancer. Therefore, if you are experiencing this symptom, please discuss it with our team right away. We can perform a cancer screening to help rule out this issue. If you are experiencing chronic bad breath, we can educate you on how to properly clean your tongue, gums, and teeth. Athletic Mouthguards

If you or your child are involved in a contact sport, we recommend an athletic mouthguard to protect the teeth. Dental injuries are common during childhood contact sports, and a mouthguard is an easy way to save time, pain, and money on treatment. TMJ Treatment

Are you experiencing unexplained headaches, jaw pain, or neck pain? You may be having trouble with your jaw joint. Let us examine your TMJ (jaw joint) to determine if treatment is necessary. We can craft a special guard to reposition your jaw and alleviate pain.

Snoring And Sleep Apnea Solutions

We work closely with a sleep specialist to solve your snoring and sleep apnea issues. Dr. Silva is trained to work with sleep doctors in the treatment of apnea, using oral appliances to make sure you get the care you need. If you are snoring disruptively or are showing other signs of sleep apnea, please contact Dr. Silva as soon as possible.
